Serving you Fashion and Fantasy since 2014
Self-made fashion designer with a flair for the nostalgic and an emphasis on plus size representation.
Background
I began sketching designs at a very early age. As soon as I could grasp the concept of drawing, I was defacing my baby book with poorly scrawled stick figures in avant garde gowns. While other artistic pursuits caught my eye growing up, I never lost my passion for dressing up and continued honing my sense of fashion by thrifting and upcycling the garments I already owned. With technical assistance from my mother, I designed and made my first original garment right after high school. The sewing bug caught from there and by 2014, I was actively realizing my many designs. |
Visual Narrative
I believe fashion cannot move forward without acknowledging its past. Everything new is just a re-imagining of bygone trends. I am fascinated by what influences filter down through the decades. With each iteration, we are refining and redefining what styles are timeless and remixing staples of previous eras for modern use. Each garment tells a story, not just about the person wearing it, but the history of that garment’s ancestry. Every last detail is designed to invoke a character and backstory on a completely visual level. |
Influences
There is little that doesn't inspire me, but the most notable influences on my aesthetic are just about anything from the 90s (from Alaia to Lisa Frank to grunge), drag culture, burlesque, fantasy, and the turn of the century. I often watch historically specific films and notice costumes I want to re-imagine for everyday wear. Other times, I simply try to recreate real, beloved garments I either saw or owned as a child. My personal style could be categorized as 'Rainbow Goth' and I think that comes through in a lot of my designs. |
